Our newest member to the assistant role, Andrew Price (promoted from the level of Page in February), has been hard at work putting up new displays for the month of May. Pictured below in our tertiary display, he has erected an exhibit paying homage to the newest Poet Laureate, Claudia Castro Luna (not only the first woman of color, but also the first immigrant to assume the position of Washington State Poet Laureate). The Display also features information regarding our upcoming “Cowboy Poetry” event. In our fireside display, Andrew has put together a beautiful work to showcase both May Day themes, and the new Gardening Club that the library is hosting every Saturday from 1-2 p.m. in the afternoon. The background of the display lays out layers of the earth, including the top most layer of the crust, and the very first few layers of the atmosphere.
